radio_rip is an easy to use bash script for one of the greatest radio stream tools available. See more about streamtuner here. It is easy to install, and you have access to thousands of streaming stations worldwide.
You can integrate radio_rip easy with streamtuner, and you save bandwith while hearing your favourite music. The best at it is, that if you hear streams with good quality ( means >=128kbit ) you get them legal in fair quality on your home pc without charges!
See how easy to configure. just open it in a text editor and modify the settings you see in the screenshot in the beginning to your needs. Then save it to a location you know and enter the pathname where you saved it and the scriptname in streamtuner. Just look at the screenshot down. Don't forget to chmod 755 the script where you saved it, so you can execute it.
$ chmod 755 radio_rip
Just call radio_rip the first time at the shell without parameters, and you see the manpage with more help information that you may need. You can verify if you have changed the file mod correct and if the script is executable. Just type:
$ ./radio_rip
Features of radio_rip
- record the streams you listen to
- save bandwith because radio_rip just needs one stream connection to record and play your stream
- names the files after the stream titles, useful for most internet radio streams
- easy to use by integration into streamtuner
